Who We Are

KINSHASA-BASED WORKERS

Green Leaf is funded from England. Green Leaf’s work is only possible because of work of the local organisers and foster parents, who give their time and skills freely. Donations by Standing Order, Stripe, Cheque, or Bank Transfer (click)

UK-BASED WORKERS

Fideline and Jacques Kanda originally lived in Kinshasa, before settling in Salford, Manchester. Close friends in Kinshasa helped them to recruit local organisers. Fideline and Jacques speak French, Lingala and English, so they are able to speak with the organisers, foster parents and children using WhatsApp.

Fideline visited the children who are supported by Green Leaf in 2019.

Elizabeth Coleman is a Quaker, retired from professional life in the charity sector. She has guided the process of charity registration. Elizabeth has received Safeguarding Training and has experience of safeguarding policies and organizing DBS checks for adults working with children in the UK.

FUNDRAISING

Quakers in the Eccles, Manchester and Warrington areas have been the main source of financial support. Green Leaf Aid for Kinshasa is now reaching out to members of the Congolese community in the UK, asking you to set up monthly standing orders to support our work. We will also look for grant funding.
